Murray H. Shusterman was profiled in The American Lawyer article, "America's Oldest Lawyer?" Full text can be found in the July 27, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is below.

Murray, who graduated from Temple University in 1936 during the Great Depression, has been practicing law for 79 years. When he joined the firm as a partner in 1969, Fox had 25 attorneys. It now has more than 600.

Over his nearly eight decades of practicing law, he has had to adjust to quite a few changes in the legal field, including evolution of payment practices. "When I began practicing law, we didn't have the so-called billable hours program," he said. "And now everything is billable hours." Clients used to simply receive a bill for "services rendered," said Abraham Reich, co-chairman at Fox Rothschild.

Mark Silow, firmwide managing partner at Fox, said that several clients rely on Shusterman's legal advice. "He's got a lot of years of accumulated wisdom," he said.

Murray isn't interested in retiring anytime soon, either. "What, retire? Sit in my rocking chair and wait to die? Absolutely not," he said. "I urge everyone who reaches the retirement age, find something. Do something."
