Net Neutrality may be back on the table since Pew Research reported that "As most schools around the nation have closed and classes and assignments have shifted online, some policymakers have raised concerns about how less digitally connected students will fare in this new learning environment."  The April 30, 2020 report entitled "53% of Americans Say the Internet Has Been Essential During the COVID-19 Outbreak" included these comments:

A new Pew Research Center survey conducted in early April finds that roughly half of U.S. adults (53%) say the internet has been essential for them personally during the pandemic and another 34% describe it as "important, but not essential.

As Americans turn to the internet for critical purposes, there are rekindled debates about how the digital divide – that is, the gap between those who do or do not have access to technology – may hinder people's ability to complete everyday tasks or even schoolwork.

Some folks suggest that the Internet should be a public utility so Covid-19 may impact the future of Net Neutrality.
