FINRA provided extensions (see here and here) for the completion of qualifying examinations and firm certifications.

FINRA provided extensions for expiring qualification examination windows to August 31, 2020 for (i) individuals who were designated to function as Operations Professionals under FINRA Rule 1220(b)(3)(B) ("Registration Categories"), and (ii) individuals who were designated to function as principals under FINRA Rule 1210.04 ("Registration Requirements").

FINRA also confirmed that firms may have additional time to (i) file reports required under FINRA Rule 3120 ("Supervisory Control System") and (ii) complete certification requirements under FINRA Rule 3130 ("Annual Certification of Compliance and Supervisory Process"). As noted in the updated FINRA FAQs, "[m]embers whose annual deadline for submitting [the Rule 3120] report falls between March 1 and July 1, 2020, may take up to and including July 31, 2020 to complete and submit the report to their senior management." Additionally, members whose certification deadline falls between March 1 and July 1, 2020 have until July 31, 2020 to complete their Rule 3130 certification.
