The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the National Association of Pipeline Safety Representatives (NAPSR) are hosting a June 27, 2012 meeting in Fort Worth, Texas to discuss integrity management issues related to gas distribution pipelines. The public meeting will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Specifically, the meeting will focus on the rule adopted in December 2009 [74 FR 63906] requiring operators of gas distribution pipelines to incorporate similar integrity management programs as those used in transmission pipelines. Meeting attendees will learn from peers and regulators on what methods have worked and those that have not in implementing distribution integrity management programs. Attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in the development of additional guidance if determined it is needed based on stakeholder feedback.

Both PHMSA and NAPSR will have representatives at the meeting available to describe issues that have come up in their initial inspections of the integrity management systems and to discuss other requirements applicable to distribution pipeline operators. An agenda of the meeting can be found here. In addition to attending in person, the meeting will be webcast online at this location.

For additional information, please see the notice of the meeting published in the Federal Register on June 8, 2012 [77 Fed. Reg. 34123].
