As an increasing number of states edge towards marijuana legalization, there is little guidance about what the new laws mean for employers. Many companies are grappling with whether, and how, their employment policies and practices should be modified to take into account state legalization of medical marijuana. Because federal law continues to prohibit marijuana use, distribution, and possession for any reason, potential confusion for employers is amplified.
