The CFTC and the UK Financial Conduct Authority ("FCA") signed a Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") regarding cooperation and the exchange of information in the supervision and oversight of certain regulated firms that operate on a cross-border basis in the United States and the United Kingdom. Both agencies "express[ed], through this MOU, their willingness to cooperate with each other in the interest of fulfilling their respective regulatory mandates in the context of supervising firms within the scope of this MOU, particularly in the areas of: protecting customers; fostering the integrity of and maintaining confidence in financial markets; and reducing systemic risk."

The scope of the MOU includes the 20 firms that are registered with the CFTC currently as swap dealers.
