Jody Simon was quoted in the Daily Journal article, "FCC Unanimously Votes to Open Broadcast Access to Video Websites." Full text can be found in the December 22, 2014, issue, but a synopsis is below.

On Friday, the Federal Communications Commission proposed that Internet video providers be able to legally stream broadcast TV programming, equating them with cable companies. Such a change would open the television market to companies attempting to mimic the cable experience online.

Jody Simon comments on this decision, stating that it "reflects a tug-of-war between old and new media."

"There's a lot of entrepreneurial energy going into content distribution of various kinds right now." Still, broadcasters, while poised to attract new earnings, remain "wedded to the existing system."
