Further to our recent e-update "Protect your Brand – Now Cheaper Than Ever!" the Trade Marks and Design Registration Office of the European Union (OHIM) have, from the 1 May 2009, now instituted the reduced fee structure for registering a Community Trade Mark.

The cost of EU registration has now been cut by 40%, making the cost of a paper application €1,050 and an e-application just €900. This provides European wide protection, enforceable in all 27 EU countries, for your trade mark at a significant reduction from the old feeing structure.

This is designed to encourage applications and to make the process far more accessible, and represents a significant step which provides real options for anyone wanting to protect their brand.
