The Science and Technology Committee has launched an inquiry to examine the impact of electronic cigarettes.

As well as looking at their effectiveness as a stop-smoking tool and the financial implications of the growing market on business and the NHS, the inquiry will consider the suitability of the regulations on their use. This will include consideration of the effectiveness of regulation on the advertising and marketing of e-cigarettes, the impact to date of the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations on the vaping industry and on the prevalence of e-cigarettes and whether regulation adequately covers all "smoking"  and novel tobacco products currently available to the public.

The Committee is welcoming written submissions until Friday 8 December.
