From 1 October 2008, the rates for the national minimum wage ("NMW") will be increased as follows:
- for workers aged 22 and over, the NMW will increase from £5.52 to £5.73;
- for workers aged 18-21, the NMW will increase from £4.60 to £4.77;
- for workers aged 16 and 17, the NMW will increase from £3.40 to £3.53.
