The health and safety calendar highlights key dates for proposed and existing legislation and policy and closing dates for consultation papers relating to major health and safety issues in the UK and EU.

It will provide a useful tool for health and safety managers tracking new legislation to control risks and improve performance through a health and safety management system such as OHSAS 18001.

Future developments include:

  • EU Regulation No 1112/2005 amending Regulation (EC) No 2062/94 establishing a European Agency for Safety and Health at Work enters into force on 14 August after its publication in the Official Journal
  • Offshore Installations (Safety Case) Regulations expected in the next two months
  • Amending Regulations on the contained use of genetically modified organisms due to commence on 1 October.
