On 9 June 2014, the FRC published its final guidance on the
application of the strategic report requirements introduced by the
Companies Act 2006 (Strategic Report and Directors' Report)
Regulations 2013 (the "Regulations"). The Regulations
came into force on 1 October 2013 and require certain companies to
prepare a standalone strategic report as part of their annual
report. The guidance is aimed at directors and is intended to serve
as a best practice guide for entities preparing strategic reports.
Further initiatives, including a review of progress towards clear
and concise reporting in the 2014 reporting cycle, will be
delivered by the FRC during 2014 and beyond.
