The Commission has published the results of its consultation on the type of information collected on charities.
As a result of the responses and Lord Hodgson's recommendations in his review of the operation of the Charities Act 2006, the Commission has launched a fundamental review of the information it collects from charities and will hold focus groups with the public to examine how the public uses information about charities and what they want to know.
The aims of the changes will be to improve transparency and accountability and will include consideration of whether or not the Commission should retain the Summary Information Return.
