On Sunday, police in Manchester arrested a man in connection with a barrage of tweets sent to Caroline Criado-Perez, a feminist campaigner fighting for an image of a woman to appear on the new bank note.
During a 12 hour period, Criado-Perez is understood to have received approximately 50 abusive tweets each hour.
