2007 Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child
Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance ("2007
Convention", "the Convention") is ratified by the
Republic of Turkey.1 The Convention will enter
into force on 1 September 2017. This constitutes an
important development in the international family law area.
The Convention was found to be eligible for approval by General
Assembly of Turkey with law No: 6708 published in the Official
Gazette on 5 May 2016.
Turkey has made a reservation on the Convention. Accordingly,
pursuant to Article 30, it reserves the right not to recognize and
enforce maintenance arrangements.
