This significant announcement marks the firm's third Partner appointment in the jurisdiction in 2023.

Lisa Walmisley specialises in high value complex commercial disputes and corporate insolvencies and restructurings. She has spent the majority of her career as a commercial Barrister at two of the leading sets of Chambers outside London for 18 years, before moving to the BVI in 2019.

With her experience in regularly advising on all aspects of company law and on all aspects of the appointment of liquidators, Lisa's expertise complements the office's credentials. Lisa joins Partners Shaun Reardon-John and Mungo Lowe to further develop the office's practice as specialists in complex and often high-profile white-collar crime cases.

On her new appointment, Lisa commented "I'm delighted to be joining the Baker & Partners team and to be part of growing the office here in the BVI. The firm has an enviable reputation for complex and high value offshore commercial, trust, and asset recovery litigation which was a big part of what attracted me to join. I look forward to the further growth of our practice in the coming months."

Senior Partner, Stephen Baker added "I am proud to announce that Lisa Walmisley has joined our BVI office as a partner. Lisa is the third partner we have appointed since opening our BVI office earlier this year, which is testament to our commitment to the BVI and our partner-led approach. Lisa joining Baker & Partners adds to the decades of experience of our senior lawyers in all of our jurisdictions."
