On April 11, 2006, the minority Conservative government introduced its much anticipated first Bill, the Federal Accountability Act (the FAA), along with a companion Action Plan, in a move aimed at strengthening the accountability of the Canadian government and increasing the level of transparency and oversight in federal government operations.
