CSSF FAQs On Luxembourg Interpretation Of AIFMD

Luxembourg regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier, has published a list of frequently asked questions in order to highlight key aspects of the soon to be adopted Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive from a Luxembourg perspective.

Luxembourg regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier ('CSSF'), has published a list of frequently asked questions in order to highlight key aspects of the soon to be adopted Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive ('AIFMD') from a Luxembourg perspective. These include:

  • definitions of alternative investment funds, alternative investment fund managers ('AIFMs'), and to what entities AIFMD applies
  • authorisation and registration regimes
  • transitional provisions
  • authorised activities and delegation principles
  • cooperation agreements

Further, the CSSF has also made available new forms to be used by AIFMs when seeking AIFMD compliant regulatory approval.
