Further to our March Fund Newsletter the Guernsey Financial Services Commission has now released the form of the Corporate Governance Assurance Statement.
This is required to be issued by the Boards of entities governed by the The Finance Sector Code of Corporate Governance.

There has been some trepidation in the industry as to the form the Assurance Statement would take. Helpfully it is a standalone document and does not form part of an entity's financial statements - a welcome amendment following industry consultation.
When considered in the light of the nature of the Assurance Statement as published by the GFSC, the statement is unlikely to cause Boards difficulty or impose any further compliance burden.
