Guernsey-headquartered Nerine Group has become the first independent trust company from the Channel Islands to open a full office in India, the Nerine Advisory Services in Delhi.
Nerine, which also has offices in British Virgin Islands, Geneva, Hong Kong and Guernsey, has been involved with advising on Indian inward and outward investment over the past five years.
The Delhi office will be managed by resident director, Pranav Khanna, who will work closely with Nerine's Hong Kong managing director Matthew Corbin.
Mr Corbin said: "Nerine's Hong Kong office has a wealth of experience of working in China and India will follow China's growth trajectory. Despite some stark cultural differences with China, there are many similarities to India in terms of its markets and financial policies, and Nerine is well placed to demonstrate its knowledge and experience across Asia."
He explained that India's business focus will be on assisting clients with their planning for inward investment into India, helping Indian clients with international business interests and developing succession planning arrangements for domestic Indian assets.
