Finance Industry Fringe Events To Support Sustainable Finance Week

Guernsey Finance is a joint industry and government initiative which seeks to promote and connect the island’s financial services sector in its chosen markets internationally. Based in Guernsey, the agency conducts marketing, communications and business development for members firms and also employs representatives in London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
A number of fringe events will take place in support of Guernsey Sustainable Finance Week in the week commencing Monday 8 June.

A number of fringe events will take place in support of Guernsey Sustainable Finance Week in the week commencing Monday 8 June.

Dr Andy Sloan, Chair of Guernsey Green Finance, said: "We very much welcome the extra support offered by these supporter firms and industry organisations. It demonstrates the substance behind Guernsey's offering in green and sustainable finance and these events are a valuable addition to what is now a very busy calendar for Guernsey Sustainable Finance Week."

Among the events so far confirmed is a workshop on Funding for Sustainability Projects, organised by the Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday 9 June; and a webinar on Investor Expectations on ESG, organised by Carey in association with Morrow Sodali, also on 9 June.

Chamber's Sustainable Business Initiative is staging a discussion on the Principles for Responsible Investment on Wednesday 10 June, and the Guernsey Investment and Funds Association has organised an online session, mainly aimed at students, on responsible investing, on Thursday 11 June.

Accountants are making a contribution too, with PwC exploring the theme of private equity's role in tackling the climate emergency on Thursday 11 June and Deloitte looking at how green Guernsey's fiduciary sector is, on Monday 8 June. Communications consultancy Black Vanilla looks at the reputational risks of greenwashing on Friday 12 June at 1pm.

On Friday 12 June the Institute of Directors will look at "The role of impact investing in a time of crisis".
