In December 2017 Elias Neocleous & Co LLC and the Russian
Centre for Science and Culture signed a memorandum of cooperation
to support Russian-speaking people living in Cyprus and promote
bilateral cultural, humanitarian and scientific cooperation between
Russia and Cyprus, including organising a series of seminars
provide information about the legal and business environment in
Cyprus.
The first seminar took place at the Russian Centre for Science
and Culture on 23 May. It focused on family law in Cyprus,
including divorce procedures, child custody, the procedure for
considering the application for payment of alimony and property
issues after divorce. Specialists from our firm with extensive
experience in family law described the provisions of the law and
how they are applied in practice, and answered participants'
questions.
Seminars will take place every three weeks, and topics for the
future include migration and employment law. The seminars focus on
legal practice, not theory, and aim to inform Russian-speaking
residents of Cyprus about issues that they may face in their daily
lives.
