SOLAS Regulation XI-3-1 requires certificates issued after 1 January 2009 under regulation IX/4 and section A/19.2 or A/19.4 of the ISPS Code to show the IMO Unique Company and Registered Owner Identification Number of the owner of the vessel concerned.

SOLAS Regulation XI-3-1 requires certificates issued after 1 January 2009 under regulation IX/4 and section A/19.2 or A/19.4 of the ISPS Code to show the IMO Unique Company and Registered Owner Identification Number of the owner of the vessel concerned. The Cyprus Department of Merchant Shipping has announced that, with effect from 1 January 2009 all owners, potential owners, managers or potential managers of Cyprus ships must submit their IMO Unique Company or Registered Owner Identification Number as appropriate, when applying for any transaction with the Department. Recognised organisations issuing ISM and ISPS related certificates on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus are required to include the IMO Unique Company Identification Number on the certificate.
