China: 中国租赁者已为下一个增长阶段做好准备

大部分衡量指标显示,中国的航空金融业的增长在过去十年是个成功的案例。

在2007年至2017年之间,中国飞机租赁公司的数量从仅有的四个增加 至超过20个。期间,中国公司在该国所有租赁飞机的拥有权,从5%激增至超过50%;他们在全球飞机租赁市场的市场占有率也从接近零涨至10%。

如今,在中国和亚太区持续蓬勃发展的航空旅游带动下,中国租赁者已开始为行业的下一个发展阶段做好准备。

国内增长

以乘客数量计,在未来二十年,中国预计会成为世界增长最快的航空旅游市场。为了迎合庞大的需求,中国预计需要总值超过1兆美元约7000架的飞机。

这对中国飞机租赁者是个巨大的商机,特别是相比购买飞机,航空公司更倾向于租赁飞机。事实上,全世界目前超过50%的飞机处于租赁状态。而让中国租赁者受惠于这增长的正是政府在过去数年来推行的措施。

2007年,中国证监会首次允许本地银行设立租赁公司。随后中国成立了东疆保税港区(DFTP),并在2009年进行了首次飞机租赁交易。自此,中国通过提供退税服务、允许以外币支付租赁费用等亲商政策推动了行业增长。截至2018年6月,DFTP共处理了1200架飞机的交付,总值超过4500亿人民币。

海外拓展

国内的增长势头促使中国租赁公司在海外市场寻求拓展。

他们放眼海外的雄心也得到中国政府的支持。2015年,中国政府决定提供补贴,并且简化了管理跨境金融租赁服务的条例与税务框架。

自此,所有主要的中国租赁者都在海外建立了可观的业务规模。他们一般选择在爱尔兰或香港,或在两地成立国际业务。相比各种不同的国际租赁平台和融资平台,这两个地点为租赁者提供显著的营运好处。

爱尔兰签订了72个双别税收协定,是全球飞机租赁的枢纽,亦是中国公司在海外开展业务的理想地点。香港凭着完善的法律、低监管障碍和近期着重于推广航空金融的税务改革,也正具备区域性的业务发展吸引力。香港也为中国大陆公司提供一系列优势,例如地理位置邻近、共同语言和商业文化、以及进入新兴市场(如大湾区)的机会。

当要决定在哪里成立海外业务时,租赁者也能将他们现有和潜在客户的所在位置纳入考虑,以优化他们的覆盖范围和获利能力。

市场仍有很多的增长空间。国际航空运输协会预计,全球航空乘客数量将在2037年倍增至82亿。亚太区就占了其中一半以上。目前为止,由中国租赁者所管理的机队价值比去年增长了15%以上,2017年达400亿美元以上。

应对挑战

稳健的增长在国内外引发了一轮新的竞争浪潮。随着中国租赁者放眼在未来数年拓展业务,他们有可能会面临一些挑战。

除了租赁公司数目激增,中国不断发展的航空市场也正步上自然的增长轨道,这与欧洲和美洲在过去十年的表现相似。其中包括,航空业者借助于本地资产负债表的优势,自行筹集资金。竞争加剧已损害租赁费和净利,导致行业进行整合,促使中国租赁公司要更努力争取市场占有率。

想要在外国市场取得成功的中国租赁者,也必须应对如开设银行账户的营运挑战。这是一个基本但却普遍的问题,影响横跨各司法管辖区租赁公司。此外,租赁者也面临员工分配及海外文化差异的问题,这有可能阻碍平稳的线性增长。
