May 3, 2019 – Candidates to study in Canada via the Student Direct Stream (SDS) will have their Study Permit applications processed in 20 days under a new service standard introduced by immigration authorities.

The Canadian government has moved to centralize processing for the expedited processing program that targets candidates living in China, India, Philippines or Vietnam who want to study here.

New rules published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada state: "As of April 30, 2019, SDS applications are being centralized and processed by the Centralized Network, and the service standard for SDS processing is 20 calendar days."
