Quebec has made significant revisions to its Areas of Training list signifying a continued emphasis on highly-specialized professional training when choosing skilled worker immigrants to the province.

The Areas of Training list is one of ten factors under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) points grid. It awards a maximum of 12 points based on the applicant's university, college, or secondary-level vocational degree from a Quebec based, or foreign educational institution.

Under the new list, applicants with foreign graduate, college-level, or secondary-level vocational degrees in a wide range of areas can receive up to 12 points, the highest score.
