I. STATUTORY

A. Federal

  1. The House of Commons adjourned sitting on December 13, 2017. It is scheduled to resume on January 29, 2018.
  2. Bill C-17, An Act to amend the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, received Royal Assent and came into force on December 14, 2017. The new Chapter 34 is available on the website http://www.parl.ca/DocumentViewer/en/42-1/bill/C-17/royal-assent.
  3. Bill C-55, An Act to amend the Oceans Act and the Canada Petroleum Resources Act, was reported with amendments to the House of Commons on December 11, 2017 by the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans. The Bill, as amended by the Committee, is available on the website http://www.parl.ca/DocumentViewer/en/42-1/bill/C-55/second-reading.
  4. Bill C-57, An Act to amend the Federal Sustainable Development Act, was reported to the House of Commons with amendments by the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development on December 13, 2017. The Bill was introduced in June 2017. A copy incorporating the Committee's amendments is available on the website http://www.parl.ca/DocumentViewer/en/42-1/bill/C-57/second-reading.

B. Alberta

  1. The Fall Sitting concluded on December 13, 2017.
  2. Bill 20, the Beaver River Basin Water Authorization Act, received Royal Assent and came into force on December 15, 2017.
  3. Section 9(2)(b) and (d), (15) and (18) of the Energy Statutes Amendment Act, 2009 were proclaimed into force on November 28, 2017. (The Alberta Gazette Part I, December 15, 2017, p. 1299.)
