August 9, 2017 - Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 2991 people to apply for Permanent Residence to Canada through Express Entry. The number of invitations issued decreased by 273 invitations from the last draw on August 2, 2017. Candidates in the Express Entry pool for immigration to Canada with 433 or more Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points have been invited to apply for Permanent Residence. The CRS cut-off threshold decreased slightly by 8 points since the previous draw.

This is the lowest CRS cut-off threshold since May, and the lowest since changes to the CRS were implemented on June 6, 2017. Following these changes, it was expected that the CRS threshold would go up temporarily to allow for the fact that some candidates in the pool, specifically bilingual and candidates with siblings residing in Canada, received a boost in their score last month.
