May 9, 2017 – Nova Scotia's immigration office has closed its most popular Canada Express Entry category less than a day after it opened.

The 250 spaces under Category B of Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry were snapped up in double quick time after the stream was opened on the morning of May 8, 2017.

Candidates do not need a job offer to qualify for the category, although they do need experience in one of Nova Scotia's targeted employment areas.

The stream will be reopened periodically throughout 2017 to allow Nova Scotia immigration officials to monitor the flow of applications.

Category A, which does require a job offer, will remain open indefinitely.
