Bill 102: A Major Reform For Québec's Environment Quality Act

On June 7, 2016, the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Fight against Climate Change (the "Minister") tabled Bill n°102 in the National Assembly of Québec entitled: An Act to amend the Environment Quality Act to modernize the environmental authorization scheme and to amend other legislative provisions, in particular to reform the governance of the Green Fund (the "Bill 102"). This major reform comes more than 40 years after the adoption of the Environment Quality Act. BLG has prepared a review of the principal amendments proposed by Bill 102.
