Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently announced the launch of the Mobilité Francophone work permit stream under the International Mobility Program. The goal of Mobilité Francophone is to attract skilled francophone workers and encourage them to settle in francophone minority communities outside Quebec.

As of June 1st, 2016, employers that provide job offers to foreign francophone workers in managerial, professional and technical/skilled trades occupations to work in Francophone minority communities outside of Quebec will not be required to apply for a Labour Market Impact Assessment. This exemption is intended to continue advancing the IRCC's objective of facilitating high skilled francophone workers' integration in order to ensure that francophone newcomers make up at least 4% of economic immigrants settling outside of Quebec by 2018 and 4.4% by 2023.
