On February 16, 2016, the Quebec government will begin accepting 2800 online applications under its skilled worker program. Originally scheduled for January, Quebec has faced numerous obstacles with its new online application system resulting in an extension of the program launch date.

Applicants must now follow 3 steps to submit an online application:

  • Applicants will be required to create a user account providing basic personal information. Applicants will have until January 25, 2016 to create their online user account on the Quebec secure portal. After this date, it will not be possible to create a new user account for the current reception period.
  • Between January 25 and February 15, 2016, applicants who have created an online user account will be able to access their account to complete an online Application for a Quebec Selection Certificate.
  • Starting February 16, 2016, appliants may submit the application and pay the required fees. The application reception period will end on March 31, 2016.

The Quebec Skilled Worker program features more than 75 eligible occupations and areas of training that will enable applicants to qualify for a Quebec Certificate of Selection (CSQ), without a job offer.

The Areas of Training list features a wide range of studies awarding points to applicants and a spouse or de facto spouse for diplomas acquired outside Quebec or obtained in Quebec or recognized as Quebec equivalent.
