We are pleased to share that Southlands Riding Club has been featured in the November 3, 2015 issue of The Vancouver Sun.
Authored by Kim Pemberton, the article discusses four horses
that were recently rescued by Southlands Riding Club Rescue and
Rehabilitation Program. This is a program which has been
recently established to rescue young horses from meat trucks and
kill pens and train them so that they may be sold for a nominal sum
as riding horses. This will give a few lucky horses a second chance
at life with a caring owner, rather than facing slaughter. The
video of the Program, which is also found on The Vancouver
Sun website provides further details as well as pictures and
profiles of the current rescues.
Southlands Riding Club is a non-profit society that serves
approximately 350 equestrian riding and non-riding members of all
ages and interests. The Club focuses on providing training
opportunities for amateur athletes at all levels as well as groups
that cater to youth, riders with special needs, and recreational
trail riders. Partner
E. Jane Milton Q.C. currently serves on the Board of Directors
of Southlands Riding Club.
