September 3, 2015 – The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) announced Tuesday that it would stop accepting applications in almost all Skills Immigration and Express Entry British Columbia Categories until early 2016. This announcement came a week after the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) announced that it would stop accepting applications until January 27, 2016.

Both the BC PNP and the AINP are grappling with high demand in all categories.  The BC PNP will continue to accept applications in the Health Care Professional and Northeast Pilot Project Categories only.  The AINP is not currently accepting any new applications.

Pending applications for both programs submitted prior to the cut-off dates will continue to be processed. Applications for the AINP post-marked August 27, 2015 or earlier will be processed.  The cut-off date for the AINP is September 1, 2015.
