The former Labour Minister, Agnès Maltais, announced in February 2014 the increase to the minimum wage in Quebec effective May 1, 2014. The minimum wage at the general rate shall increase from $10.15 per hour to $10.35 per hour. The rate for employees who receive tips will increase from $8.75 per hour to $8.90 per hour. For employees working in certain sectors of the clothing industry, their rate shall increase from $10.15 per hour to $10.35 per hour.
