On March 6, 2014 an agreement was signed between the Government of Canada and the Government of Ireland to raise the number of spots available to Irish citizens under the International Experience Canada program from 6,350 in 2013 to 10,700 for 2014. Irish citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 may apply to one of three categories: Young Professionals; Working Holiday; International Coop (Internship). Participation is limited to 24 months in either the Working Holiday or Young Professional category, and eligible participants will have the option of applying for an additional one-time participation for up to 12 months in the International Coop (Internship) category, for a maximum participation of 36 months.
Applications for the Young Professional and International Coop (Internship) category open on March 11, 2014. Applications for the Working Holiday program open on March 13, 2014.
