In June 2013, the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General ("Ministry") held meetings with various stakeholders about the proposed Unclaimed Property Program. The Ministry has now published a summary of the views expressed at these meetings, which is available at:

According to the summary: "Groups from the not-for-profit sector suggested that the Ontario program be based on the British Columbia model, where the unclaimed property goes directly to support the not-for-profit sector."
The Ministry has also extended the deadline for written submissions on its consultation to September 18, 2013. A copy of the consultation is available at:
