The majority of the Responsible Energy Development Act has now been proclaimed and will come into force, effective on June 17th. 

Certain sections of the Act have not been proclaimed and will not come into force on that date.  The provisions that will not come into force include provisions which allow for the registration of private surface agreements, and provisions which provide for the transfer of responsibility for approvals under other Acts (such as the Public Lands Act, the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, the Water Act and the Pipeline Act) to the new Alberta Energy Regulator.
