The Globe and Mail, citing the Canadian Press, is reporting that the Federal environment minister and his provincial counterparts will announce tomorrow that they have reached agreement on new steps to control industrial air pollution.

The agreement will deal at first with fine particulates and ground level ozone, with further measures to come to deal with nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The agreement will apply emissions standards to a wide range of industrial activities, including mining, energy and oil sands.
