On September 13, 2018 the Ontario government posted to the EBR Environmental Registry the policy decision to cancel the Electric and Hydrogen Incentive Program (EHVIP) and the Workplace Electric Vehicle Charging Incentive Program (WEVCIP) funded through the repealed cap and trade program. It also posted, on September 13, 2018, notice of the decision to cancel the cycling initiatives funded through the repealed cap and trade program.

As we have discussed previously, the new provincial government has taken a very lax approach to the requirement to post public notices of legislative, regulatory and policy decisions to the EBR Environmental Registry. Yesterday's postings continue this trend. The policy decisions with respect to the cancellation of the EHVIP and WEVCIP, as well as the cycling programs, were made without a public notice and comment period on the EBR Environmental Registry. Instead, both policy decision notices have been been linked to the Environmental Registry's notice of the original 2016 program development policy proposals.
