The Brazilian National Council of Energy Policy approved last December, the recommendation so that ANP may  conduct  the 13th bid round of exploratory blocks of oil and natural gas.

The forecast is that the next bidding process will be concentrated on the eastern edge of the country extending from the State of Rio Grande do Norte as far as the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The ANP´s proposal is to offer areas in mature basins, shallow waters and new offshore frontiers.

In addition to these areas, inactive areas presented to the market in August 2014 shall be also included. This list had in total ten onshore areas, with different profiles distributed in the basins of Recôncavo (4), Espírito Santo (3), Tucano Sul (1), Paraná (1) and Barreirinhas (1).

All  these areas will participate in the bidding process under the rules of  the concession regime, with a collection of bonus,  and not under the  shared or partition regime since none of these areas will be located in the sub-salt area and the bidding process is expected to take place in June, 2015.
