Government Announces New (Temporary) Parent
Visas
On 5 May 2017, the Assistant Minister for Immigration and Border
Protection announced the introduction of a new "temporary
sponsored parent visa". In order to be eligible for this visa,
parents must be sponsored by a biological, adoptive or step-child
who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or an
eligible New Zealand citizen.
Migration (IMMI 17/039 Arrangements for Temporary Work and
Temporary Activity Visa Applications) Instrument
2017
17/05/2017 – This instrument adds an address of the
Department of Immigration and Border Protection as the place to
which applications must be made for a Temporary Work (International
Relations) (Class GD) visa where the applicant is seeking to
satisfy the criteria for Subclass 403 (Temporary Work
(International Relations)) in the Seasonal Worker Program stream,
and repeals Arrangements for Temporary Work and Temporary Activity
Visa Applications 2017/019 (IMMI 17/019) (F2017L00131).
