It's been a stellar year so far for Women in Business with $14,000 raised for charities - not to mention plenty of inspiration, tips and techniques for achieving success!

The year kicked off to a great start with our first guest speaker, Carolyn Creswell, headlining our March event. The founder of Carman's, Carolyn has grown Carman's to become the number one selling gourmet muesli brand on Australian supermarket shelves, while maintaining a genuine work-life balance!

Her numerous accolades include being named the 2012 Telstra Australian Business Woman of the Year and the winner of 2007 Ernst & Young's Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Actively involved with many charities, Carolyn is also a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and appears as a mentor on Channel 10's Recipe to Riches.

Guests raised $8,000 in support of My Westmead's Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Westmead Hospital. This money will help to ensure the best possible treatment is available for premature babies and babies in need of specialised care.

Women in Business continued to go from strength-to-strength with our recent June event featuring guest speaker, Alisa Camplin OAM, sharing her tips for long-lasting success in life.

Well-known for her incredible Olympic journey to become the first female Australian Winter Olympics medal-winner, Alisa shared the range of skills and techniques that have enabled her to combine a dynamic portfolio of sport, business and governance roles.

Almost $6,000 was raised through the event for Finnan's Gift, which Alisa and her husband established in 2011 after losing their first child to Congenital Heart Disease. Finnan's Gift raises much needed funds for state-of-the-art equipment for the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.

Women in Business events are presented by Coleman Greig, in conjunction with sponsors - St George Bank, University of Western Sydney, Champion's Business Growth Advisers and 360HR.

Established in 2007, Women in Business aims to celebrate the achievements of women, strengthen business networks and raise funds for worthy causes.
