January 2013 sees the commencement of various pieces of employment law legislation which will have an immediate impact on the workplace.

Of particular importance are changes to the Fair Work Act, which have altered the period for bringing claims on termination of employment. In addition, changes have also been implemented which entitle a dad or a partner to seek two weeks paid parental leave.

During 2013 we will also see changes in relation to reporting requirements under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012.
