Appendix to our guide to the AIFM Directive: update post-ESMA advice December 2011

Introduction

On 21 July 2011, the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (Directive) came into force. Member States have until 22 July 2013 to transpose the provisions of the Directive into national law.

On 16 November 2011, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published its final advice on possible implementing measures for the Directive.
