Aug 21, 2019 – Canada is in the process of carrying out a managed, staged increase in its immigration levels that will see more than one million newcomers welcomed over three years in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
The Liberal government established 300,000 immigrants per year as the 'new normal' since coming to power in 2015. Previously, annual immigration numbers had been in the region of 250,000 to 270,000.
