We have received reports that the " MOL PRESTIGE ", a 2006 built container vessel flying the Singaporean flag, has suffered an engine room fire and is immobilised about 200 miles off Haida Gwaii. The fire occurred on the 31st January and two injured crew members were evacuated by helicopter.
Owners have contracted a tug and it is possible that there will be claims for salvage. Claims for GA are also possible and power to reefer containers was interrupted.
