We have received reports that the " THERESA ARCTIC ", a 1988 built product tanker flying the Tuvalu flag, remains aground off Kenya.
Professional salvors Smit are reported to be in attendance and lightening is being planned as the vessel has been aground for some time. Four local tugs are on site to hold the vessel in place and lightening tonnage is reported as being on the way from Mozambique.
It is also likely that General Average will be declared.
So far as any recovery is concerned, we have identified the vessel's P&I Club which is based in the UK.
