Teachers at Saucon Valley School District have been working under an expired contract since July 2012. In order to come up with a new, compromised contact, an arbitrator gave a 15 page recommendation.
This report came out Wednesday night and stated teacher salaries would be frozen for one year, the district has to agree to a small health care increase and only teachers that were on the previous 2008-2012 contract would receive retirement incentives.
Each side has 10 days to accept or reject the report, and according to Jeffrey Sultanik, "A costing of the impact of the arbitration award will be performed by the district administration and the board so that it can be analyzed in the context of where we stand in this process."
