The Competition Bureau alleged that Bauer did not conduct adequate and proper testing to support such performance claims. Bauer also agreed to donate $500,000 worth of equipment to a charity, implement corporate compliance programs, and pay $40,000 toward the Bureau's investigation costs.
Bauer, for its part, denies that it claimed that its helmet is concussion-proof. Bauer also disagrees with the Bureau's conclusion that its testing was inadequate.
